Broken Jaw Liquid Diet
A person with a jaw fracture may require a liquid diet, because chewing is impossible or too painful. A liquid diet contains enough nutrition to sustain the body for long periods of time.
A liquid diet includes:
- Cream of wheat
- Fruit juices
- Honey
- Jelly
- Milk, milkshakes and ice cream
- Nutrition supplement drinks, such as Ensure or Boost
- Pureed meats
- Pureed vegetables
- Soups without solids
- Syrups
- Vegetable juices
- Yogurt and pudding
