Another name for Breech Position is Breech Delivery.

What is a breech delivery?
During a breech delivery, the newborn's buttocks or feet pass through the birth canal first. During a normal delivery, the newborn's head passes through the birth canal first. Causes for breech delivery include abnormal uterus, Down's syndrome, low birth weight, twin pregnancy, placenta previa, and premature baby.

What are the symptoms of a breech delivery?
The most common symptoms of a breech delivery are labor pains and uterine contractions that fail to progress the fetus normally down the birth canal.

How does the doctor treat a breech delivery?
Treatment for a breech delivery may include the manual manipulation of the fetus into a normal head down position or delivery by c-section.
