A person with a breast lump has a knot, bump or swollen area under the skin of the breast. Overgrowth of cells, infections, and swollen lymph glands in the breast can form lumps in the breast. What are the symptoms of a breast lump?
Most breast lumps are soft, rubbery, and nontender. A tender and painful breast lump is more commonly due to an infection.
