A person with breast disease may have pain or a lump in the breast that is caused by infection, inflammation, or cancer. Images

Most breast disease is not serious, and is referred to collectively as benign breast disease. Breast disease is more common in females. Gynecomastia is the most common type of benign breast disease in males.
