What is bradycardia?
A person with bradycardia has a heart rate that is less than 60 beats per minute. A well-trained athlete may have a heart rate lower than 60 beats per minute at rest. Also, normal adults and children may have a slow heart rate during sleep.

What are the symptoms of bradycardia?
Many people with bradycardia will have no symptoms until the pulse becomes very slow. When symptoms do develop they may include faintness, dizziness, nausea, sweating, and fainting.

How does the doctor treat bradycardia?
Significant bradycardia may require treatment with medications or a heart pacemaker.
