Blepharitis Infectious Evaluation
The evaluation of infectious blepharitis begins with a medical history and eye examination. Images

Physical findings of infectious blepharitis may include:
  • Swelling and redness of the eyelid edges Images
  • Scaly eyelids
  • Thick coating on the lids Images
  • Ulcers at the base of the eyelashes Images
  • Misdirection of eyelashes
  • Scarring of the lid margins
  • A painless, swollen lump in the eyelid Images
  • Conjunctivitis:
    • Irritation and swelling of the thin, clear lining on the eye Images
The diagnosis of infectious blepharitis does not require testing.
