Physical findings in those with bleeding gums may include:

• Dental caries
• Dental plaque
• Dental tenderness
• Face swelling
• Swollen lymph nodes in the neck
• Gingivitis:
• Gum redness
• Gum tenderness
• Swollen gums

Bleeding caused by dental disease does not require additional testing. However, blood tests may be required to evaluate severe bleeding from the gums.
