Bladder stones are small masses formed by the build-up of minerals within the bladder. Images

Bladder stones usually form secondary to another problem such as urinary tract infection, prostate gland enlargement (men), and nerve problems that affect bladder function.

Bladder stones are much more common in men, where more than 9 out of every 10 people with a bladder stone are male.
