Seek immediate medical care for:

• Difficulty breathing
• Fainting
• More than 10 bee, wasp or hornet stings in an adult
• More than 5 bee, wasp of hornet stings in a child under 12 years old
• Past severe allergic reaction to bee, wasp, hornet or fire ant stings
• Severe hives
• Severe itching
• Swelling of the mouth, neck or face
• Wheezing

• Fever over 100.4 degrees F (38 C)
• Red rash with yellow or brown scabs around the sting
• Red streaks in the skin that spread from the sting
• Lymphangitis of the arm
• Lymphangitis of the back of the leg
• Lymphangitis of the hand from a finger wound
• Red, swollen lump or boil at the sting site
• Repeated vomiting
• Severe pain around the sting for more than 3 hours
• Worsening skin redness, swelling and pain around the sting:
• Cellulitis of the face
• Cellulitis of the ear
• Cellulitis of the arm
• Cellulitis of the hand
• Cellulitis of the leg
• Cellulitis of the foot
• Cellulitis of the abdomen
• Cellulitis of the breast
• Yellow or green fluid draining from the sting site
