Bedbugs are a reddish-brown insect that is no more than about 0.5 cm in length.

Bedbugs do not spread disease to humans, but can cause bites that appear as itchy, red bumps in the skin. Some people may have more of an allergic reaction to the bites causing a rash that looks like hives.
