Home care for basilar migraine headaches:
  • Avoid migraine triggers.
  • Take prescriptions as directed:
    • Take medication at the first sign of a basilar migraine.
  • Drink caffeinated beverages during a basilar migraine.
  • Rest in dark room.
  • Apply cold compresses to the scalp:
    • Wrap ice in a moist hand towel.
    • Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
