Baseball Finger Definition

A person with a baseball finger, or mallet finger, has an injury to the last joint of the finger. Images

The injury occurs when an object, such as a baseball, strikes the end of a finger, forcing it to flex. This can damage a tendon or bone at this joint. It results in the inability to completely straighten the end of the finger.
