Bacterial Gastroenteritis Home Care: Warning Signs

Notify your doctor if you have bacterial gastroenteritis and any of the following:

Diarrhea that contains pus
Blood in the stool:

Repeated vomiting for more than 8 hours
Fever over 101 degrees F (38.3 C)
Decreased urination:

Urinating less than 3 times over 24 hours

Worsening abdominal pain
No improvement after 3 days
Jaundice:

Fainting
