Back Pain after Lifting Home Care
Home care for acute back pain after lifting includes:
  • Apply a cold compress:
    • Wrap ice in a moist hand towel. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
    • Apply for 20-30 minutes, every 1-2 hours, for the first few days.
  • Rest your back.
  • Apply warm compresses:
    • After 2-3 days
  • Back stretching exercises
    • Start exercises after 2 days.
    • Allow pain to be your guide: do not perform exercises that cause pain.
  • Take prescribed medications as directed.
  • Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain. Images
