A person with an acoustic neuroma has a rare, slow-growing tumor of the acoustic nerve that transmits signals from the ear to the brain.

What are the symptoms of an acoustic neuroma?
An acoustic neuroma can cause episodes of vertigo and ringing in the ears. Other symptoms include chronic headaches and hearing loss.
