Ankle Sprain Types
There are three main types of ankle sprains:
  • Grade I: mild stretching of one or more ligaments
  • Grade II: partial tear of one or more ligaments, but the joint remains supported by the ligaments
  • Grade III: complete tear of at least one ligament, such that the joint is not completely supported by the ligaments
