Angina Variant Symptoms

Prinzmetal's angina can cause a variety of symptoms. Chest pain is a common symptom of Prinzmetal's angina, but not all people with Prinzmetal's angina have chest pain.

The most common symptom of Prinzmetal's angina includes:

  • Chest pain:
    • Dull, heavy, squeezing, or pressure-like pain
    • Chest pain may be located under the breastbone or on the left side of the chest
    • Lasting longer than 20 minutes
    • Pain may be triggered by physical exertion
    • Relieved with rest

The chest pain from Prinzmetal's angina may spread to other locations.
