Alkaline Phosphatase Decreased Infantile
Infantile hypophosphatasia is the most common form of hypophosphatasia. Symptoms start before 6 months of age.
Symptoms of hypophosphatasia in infants include:
- Bone deformities
- Failure to thrive
- Poor feeding in infants
- Poor weight gain
- Poor growth
- High blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia)
- Kidney stones
Less than 50% of infants survive the illness.
