Common names:
A woman with adenomyosis has abnormal thickening of the lining to the uterus. As the thickening worsens, the lining invades the deeper layers of the uterus, resulting in vaginal bleeding. Adenomyosis is more common in women over 30 who have delivered a baby in the past.
