Acne Home Care
Home care for acne includes:
  • Avoid foods that trigger acne.
  • Avoid makeup, and moisturizer on the face.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Do not squeeze pimples.
  • Gently clean the skin:
    • Clean the face 2 or 3 times a day.
    • Use a clean washcloth every day.
  • Keep your hair clean and away from the face.
  • Use an anti-bacterial soap for acne:
    • Fostex
    • Clearasil
    • Neutrogena
  • Use oil-free sunscreen.
  • Apply warm, wet compresses over pimples that contain pus.
  • Apply benzoyl peroxide cream:
    • Apply directly to the pimples at night, after washing the face.
  • Avoid sun exposure if you are using a retinoid cream, such as:
  • Apply retinoid creams at night.
  • Do not use benzoyl peroxide if you use a retinoid cream.
