Acne Evaluation
The evaluation of acne begins with a history and physical exam. Images

Physical findings in someone with acne may include:
  • Skin lesions:
    • Usually located on the face, back or chest
    • Whiteheads
    • Blackheads
    • Red pimples Images
    • Pimples filled with pus
    • Skin redness around the lesions
  • Skin cysts:
    • Located on the face, back or chest Images
    • Skin redness around the cysts
  • Skin tenderness
Tests are not required to make the diagnosis of acne.
