Abscess Fingertip Underlying Cause
Felons are caused by bacteria that normally live on the surface of the skin. An injury to the fingertip, or a fingernail infection, may allow this bacteria to enter the tissue beneath the skin. The bacteria start to grow and an abscess forms in the fingertip.
