Notify your doctor for abrasions and any of the following:
Pus draining from the abrasion
Red streaks that spread from the abrasion:
Lymphangitis
of the arm
Lymphangitis
of the back of the leg
Lymphangitis
of the hand from a finger wound
Fever
over 101 degrees F (38.3 C)
Worsening skin redness and pain around the abrasion:
Cellulitis
of the arm
Cellulitis
of the hand
Cellulitis
of the leg
Cellulitis
of the foot
Worsening
swelling
around the abrasion
Worsening pain around the abrasion
Worsening bleeding
You have a dirty abrasion and you have not had a
tetanus booster
within 5 years
You have not had a
tetanus booster
within 10 years
Your wound contains a foreign body
