Skin Lesion Home Care: Warning Signs
Notify your doctor if you have a skin lesion and any of the following:
  • Worsening skin swelling
  • Worsening skin tenderness
  • Worsening skin redness
  • Increase in size of the lesion
  • New mole in someone older than 40
  • Moles with the following:
    • Asymmetry: one side does not look like the other Images
    • Bleeding or cracking Images
    • Inconsistent coloration Images
    • Irregular margins: borders with jagged or notched edges Images
    • New skin lump in any location Images
    • Rapid change in size or shape Images
