Jaw Injury Home Care: Liquid Diet
A person with a jaw injury may require a liquid diet, because chewing is impossible or too painful. A liquid diet contains enough nutrition to sustain the body for long periods of time.

A liquid diet includes:
  • Cream of wheat
  • Fruit juices
  • Honey
  • Jelly
  • Milk, milkshakes and ice cream
  • Nutrition supplement drinks, such as Ensure or Boost
  • Pureed meats
  • Pureed vegetables
  • Soups without solids
  • Syrups
  • Vegetable juices
  • Yogurt and pudding
