Risk factors for AIDS include:
  • Anal sex
  • Health care workers who are stuck by a needle contaminated by HIV
  • Homosexual male
  • Intravenous drug use
  • Multiple sex partners
  • Prostitution
  • Unprotected sex
  • A pregnant woman who is infected with HIV:
    • The infected woman has a 1 in 3 chance of passing the infection to the infant.
    • Breastfeeding caries a very small risk for infection in the infant.
